Cloudy Days=Cold Days

When I first decided to move to Africa, one of the first things I did was get rid of a large portion of my long sleeve gear. I mean, after all, I was coming to a land of bright sun and sandy beaches. Who would have a need for long sleeves?

Though they look lame, at least they are warm. Yes, I am envious.
I also moved to Africa in winter. Now this was strategic on my part. I knew that Africa can have brutal summers, occasionally, and I wanted to slowly but surely acclimate myself to the weather. So, I showed up with three long sleeve shirts in tow and a few sweaters; thinking I was equipped for the African winter.

Three months into it, I wonder, what the hell was I thinking. Ok, so no, Ghana does not get freezing cold. There is no potential for snow and I can never see my breath. However, there are definitely moments where the headlights won't go off of high beam- sad, but true. Sometimes, I find myself huddled in the corner blowing hot air into my hands, wishing for a snuggie.

I just thank God I had the foresight to keep a light jacket and a few pashminas, or else I would definitely be forced to find a winter boo.

P.S. If interested in sending me a snuggie donation please inbox me for my address.

Until Next Time. Smooches.
